History
The International Research Program on Comparative Mycoplasmology (IRPCM) was launched in 1971 under auspices of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations as a consultative group. In 1978, IRPCM became a permanent standing committee of the International Organization for Mycoplasmology (IOM). At each IOM Congress, IRPCM holds a Consultation for mycoplasmology experts to discuss major advancements and future challenges in relevant research fields, as well as to coordinate collaborations.
