Porcine mycoplasmas

This team aims at advancing and disseminating knowledge on all aspects of swine mycoplasmas, and to encourage individual and collaborative studies, including the effective exchange of scientific information, to reach this goal. The current team objectives include:
- Typing of swine mycoplasma field strains & look for measures that correlate with in vivo virulence
- Study mechanisms of pathogenesis of M. hyopneumoniae
- Perform omic studies of porcine mycoplasmas
- Investigate and develop better diagnostic tests for M. hyopneumoniae
- Develop more efficient vaccines for M. hyopneumoniae that can be used in farms
- Study porcine Mycoplasmas different from M. hyopneumoniae
